- Yarn weight: Light Fingering ?
- Yardage: 1000 – 1700 yards (914 – 1554 m)
- Yarn requirement: The prototype shawl was knit in homespun light fingering yarn, and used approximately 1600 yards. It’s quite large, at about 6’ by 4’. It would be possible to make a smaller shawl using fewer pattern repeats; instructions for this are included in the pattern. You could also use a smaller needle size. But, the pattern is built to incorporate five different lace motifs, and some of the repeats are quite long and wide, so it will always be a larger shawl. A minimum-repeats version blocks out to just over 2’ in depth (past elbow-length on a small-to-average person).
