Construction Details

The Aestas Top is crocheted seamlessly from the top down, eliminating the need for sewing pieces together.

Its construction features:

  • Comfortable fitted shape
  • Decorative openwork panels along both sides
  • Solid front for everyday wear
  • Lightweight cotton fabric
  • Quick, beginner-friendly construction

The pattern includes detailed written instructions as well as photo tutorials, making it suitable for adventurous beginners.

Designer’s Note (April 2026):

Because this was one of the designer’s earliest published patterns, it is offered as a free download. The designer notes that crocheting double crochet continuously in the round may cause the fabric to skew slightly, making the openwork panels shift to one side. Turning your work at the end of each round is recommended to minimize this effect.

Fit & Styling

The Aestas Top is designed to become a versatile summer wardrobe staple.

Styling ideas:

  • Pair with denim shorts for a casual summer outfit
  • Wear with linen trousers for an effortless vacation look
  • Style with skirts for a feminine warm-weather ensemble
  • Layer under lightweight cardigans during cooler evenings

Its breathable cotton construction makes it ideal for spring and summer wear.
