Art Deco Bathroom- Photos &Ideas

An Art Deco bathroom is a homage to the elegance and sophistication of the early 20th century. Here are some key elements and design principles you might incorporate:

1. **Geometric Patterns**: Art Deco is characterized by geometric shapes, so consider incorporating bold geometric patterns in your tiles, wallpaper, or even in the design of your fixtures.

2. **Luxurious Materials**: Art Deco embraces luxury, so use materials like marble, brass, chrome, and mirrored surfaces to add opulence to your bathroom.

3. **Rich Colors**: Jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and ruby red were popular in Art Deco design. Consider using these colors for accents or even as the main color scheme for your bathroom.

4. **Streamlined Fixtures**: Choose streamlined fixtures with sleek lines and geometric shapes. Freestanding bathtubs with angular designs or pedestal sinks with geometric bases can add an authentic Art Deco touch.

5. **Statement Lighting**: Lighting is crucial in Art Deco design. Look for statement lighting fixtures with geometric shapes, glass, and metallic finishes to enhance the overall ambiance of the bathroom.

6. **Mirrored Surfaces**: Mirrors were a prominent feature in Art Deco interiors, reflecting the era’s fascination with luxury and glamour. Incorporate mirrored surfaces in your bathroom to add depth and visual interest.

7. **Art Deco Accessories**: Complete the look with Art Deco accessories such as vintage perfume bottles, decorative trays, and vanity sets. These small details can enhance the overall theme of the bathroom.

Remember, the key to a successful Art Deco bathroom is to balance opulence with functionality, creating a space that feels luxurious yet practical for everyday use.

Bathroom of Room 237 at the Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, Colorado. It was remodeled in 2022 to resemble the bathroom of the Overlook Hotel in the movie The Shining. I actually like it better than the original set from the film. Stephen King started writing the book while staying in Room 217 of the Stanley.
