The Greville Chandelier Earrings made by Cartier for Lady Greville in 1929. Lady Greville was society hostess with close ties to the Royal family. After her in 1942, she left her jewellery collection to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
The earrings are very modern and consist of 16 diamonds each. The diamonds are cut in different ways ; half – Moon, trapeze, squares, baguette, baton and emerald.
The earrings were given to the Queen ( then Princess Elizabeth ) in 1947 as a wedding present when she married Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark.
