The Rockefeller Sapphire, an impressive 62.02 carat Burmese Sapphire of exceptional color and clarity set as a ring by Tiffany & Co. in 1934
Flanked by cut-cornered triangular-cut white diamonds, mounted in platinum, with a certificate from the gemological institute of America stating the sapphire is of Burmese origin. The ring was owned by John D. Rockefeller Jr. from 1934 till his death in 1960 it remained in the Rockefeller family till 1971, later it was sold at Christie’s in Zurich then again in New York at Sothebys in 1988 then again at Christie’s in 2001, previously the stone was owned by Indian Royalty.
